Another day another mini meet

Monday 31st August.

An early start with our fingers crossed for some spotties and the king.

11.30 arrived and the majority of our sightings were the feathered variety.

The elephant population seems to be thriving and we have had incredible encounters.

We drove into Phalaborwa via Sable Hide where there was a large Ellie herd playing and drinking.

Only took one camera in with me and the battery died after a few shots…….more likely the camera died of embarrassment when it saw the super enormous lens on the camera at the other end of the hide.

Lunch at Spur was followed by a quick trip around the aisles at the supermarket.

Most arduous task of the day was standing in the queue at the ATM behind 20 people and money running low as your turn came.

We enjoyed a drink with Scipio and Scorpion and their 2 delightful daughters before driving back to Letaba

Temperature at this stage….4pm ….38c.
