Berg en Dal to Skukuza
Thursday 11th March
Today we pack to move to Skukuza and leave camp just before 7am.
Birds were the order of the day.
Danielle & I caught a glimpse of a leopard walking parallel to the road and by the time we reversed it was just a bum and tail heading further into the bush
We managed to miss the Wild Dog again today.

CB Breakfast & BnD Braai Pt 2
Wednesday 10 March cont.
We left the Hippo Pools around 12.20 and were hopeful of sightings on the return trip to Berg en Dal via the S25 & S114, even though the temp was in the high 30’s.
Several hundred metres from the S25 two cars had stopped.
We were well rewarded with one of my favourite cats
No words needed for this magnificent Cheetah.
We spent 15 minutes watching and he spent most of this time in the shade.
Not much else to see on the trip to BnD and we retreated to our air conditioned bungalow.
4.15 we drove to Matjulu waterhole where we had arranged to meet Elzet, Theunis and their daughter Lene.
The Rhino were already there.
Pity about the rule breaker
Drive back to camp produced
We were back in camp by 6 and at 6.30 we were guests of Theunis, Elzet and Lene for a braai (BBQ).
They are one special family and I know we will get another chance to visit them in the future.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time with them and knew would meet up again on Thursday and Friday at Skukuza for the cricket.
The resident genet also paid us a visit while the braai was cooking.

A Crocodile Bridge Breakfast and Berg en Dal Braai. Part 1
Wednesday 10th March.
We were waiting to exit the gate at 5.30am and our first drive of the day would be to Crocodile Bridge to have breakfast with fellow forumite “Boorgatspook”
We had only travelled a few k’s along the S110 and our first sighting of the day loomed
A yellow ribbon tied to the side mirror of a bakkie.
We stopped and the other forumite backed up
It was none other than “Joekin” from J0burg and a friend
He had just driven from Johannesburg, and maybe that explained the stunned expression.
We had managed to keep this trip a secret and he hadn’t picked up on any of the clues I had dropped.
Sightings along the way included:-
A well hidden lady
We enjoyed a take away breakfast from Croc Bridge(best take away in park) and swapped sightings with Spookie
It was soon time to move on and we took the S28 and turned on to the S137 for a stop at Duke waterhole.
We eventually arrived at the Hippo Pools via S130, H4-2 and S25/27
